Collins Trucking is owned and operated by a third generation of Collins’. After WWII, Henry R. Collins began Collins Concrete Pipe Co. a small business manufacturing concrete pipe for casing water wells and driveways. In 1962, Michael A. (Mac) Collins partnered with his father to begin Collins Concrete Products a manufacture of pre-cast concrete septic tanks. A few years later, 1965, Collins Concrete Products was incorporated to Collins Ready Mix Concrete, Inc., supplying concrete for residential and commercial construction. In addition to trucks delivering concrete products and ready mix concrete, Collins operated tractor trailer dumps hauling sand and gravel. After supplying concrete for the construction of a Plywood Plant built by Georgia Pacific Corporation, another venture was incorporated Collins Trucking Co. Inc. Collins Trucking CO., Inc. entered into a contract with GP to transport pine and hardwood logs to various mills in Georgia. The annual renewal contract is ongoing today.

In 1992, Michael A. (Mike) Collins purchased a small business and incorporated Collins Industries, Inc. It also contracted with GP to sort, saw hardwood and pine logs in specific lengths and transport to various mills in Middle Georgia. With changes in the operation of the timber industry, Collins Industries changed its focus to transporting building products. CI purchased one truck and leased a flatbed trailer from General Trailer Service. After a short period of time, CI purchased Jones Trucking in Griffin, Ga. and in 2005 CI purchased Collins Trucking Co., Inc. Today Collins Industries is the parent company for several successful entities.  One, Collins Trucking Company, operates 70 plus power units, utilizing flatbed, and van trailers operating throughout the Southeast and Midwestern States.
